Primary Nameserver: NS1.BLUEGRAVITY.COM (64.57.64.2)

| 4. |
| Send an Email to domains@bluegravity.com with your
Username or Customer ID and the domain(s) which require stats. |
|

| 5. |
There are two ways to check your web site's stats:
1. Login to your account via
the web, click the "Domains" menu option. There will be a link to "View Stats"
next to each domains where stats have been enabled.
2. In your browser, go to: http://www.your_domain.com/stats/usage (replace the bold section
with your domain name) |
|

| 6. |
| Most often, this error occurs when there is no index.html (default web page) in the domain directory/folder. Be
sure a file named index.html (in all lowercase) is in the appropriate domain directory/folder. |

PHP Scripting |
|
|
| 1. |
Create a file named ".htaccess" in the appropriate domain directory, and insert the following line:
suPHP_ConfigPath /htdocs/your_username/your_domain/php.ini
By placing the ".htaccess" inside each domain directory, unique settings can be defined for each
individual web site. |

| Send an Email to domains@bluegravity.com with your Username
or Customer ID, a FrontPage password, and domains which require FrontPage extensions. |
|
|
|
|

| 2. |
FrontPage 2000 and above = Web to Open: http://your_domain.com
FrontPage 98/Express = Web to Open: your_domain.com
If you have requested FrontPage extensions on your domain(s), enter the domain name as the "Web" to open.
DO NOT include the "www." in the Web name, as this will return an error. If using Front Page 2000 or above, be
sure to include "http://" in the domain. |
|

| 3. |
If using FrontPage to design forms, you MUST enter the correct "Base Location" or this error will appear:
FrontPage Error.
User: please report details to this site's webmaster.
Webmaster: please see the server's system log for more details.
Open your Web in FrontPage. Click "Page" under the "Views" toolbar, and open the appropriate HTML form. The
form should now be viewable in the right pane. Click on the "File" menu, and select "Properties". Under the
"General" tab, enter the following in the "Base Location" field: http://your_domain.com/ (do NOT enter the www).
Click OK and Save the new HTML form. |

CGI/Perl Scripting |

/usr/sbin/sendmail |
| date |
/bin/date |
| htpasswd |
/httpd/bin/htpasswd |

| 2. |
There could be several reasons, but here is the most common:
For security purposes, we run a CGI "wrapper" called suEXEC.
If the CGI/Perl script documentation had you "chmod" files/directories to 666 or 777, suEXEC will NOT allow
the CGI to run. These file permissions are VERY dangerous, and should be changed to 644 and 755 respectively.
If this does not solve your problem, there is most likely something wrong in the code itself. |
|

| 3. |
You have not changed permissions on the CGI/Perl script to make it executable.
To do this from a Unix shell, type "chmod 755 <filename>".
Or, use your favorite FTP software and right-click the filename to make changes. If your FTP program does not
allow you to enter a numeric permission, make sure the "x" (executable) bit is set for owner/group/other. |
|

| 4. |
There are a number of wonderful CGI/Perl resource sites. Below are just a few.

Email |
|
|
| 1. |
If using our SMTP server to send mail, you MUST turn ON authentication or this error will appear:
The message could not be sent because one of the recipients was rejected by the server. The rejected e-mail
address was 'webmaster@your_domain.com'. Subject 'Message Subject', Account: 'username', Server: 'mail.bluegravity.com', Protocol:
SMTP, Server Response: '553 sorry, that domain isn't in my list of allowed rcpthosts (#5.7.1)', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server
Error: 553, Error Number: 0x800CCC79
If using Outlook or Outlook Express: Click "Tools" -> "Accounts", and select the appropriate Email account.
Then click "Properties" -> "Servers". At the bottom of this window (under the Outgoing Mail Server divider) there will be an option that reads
"My server requires authentication". This must be checked.
If not, our SMTP server will not relay Email to domains outside
of our network. This policy was introduced to prevent spammers
and non-legitimate customers from sending mail through our network. |

Log in to your account.
First step: Click on POP3 at the top. Create a POP3 username name and
password. This username is used ONLY to log into your mail account; It will
not show in your email address at all. Once you've created the POP3 username
and password click on Mail at the top.
Second step: Here is where you create the actual email address. Enter in the
first part of the email address you want to create then choose your domain
name from the drop down box. Leave "Forward to Email Address" blank.
Instead, select the POP3 account you just created from the "Forward to POP3"
drop down box. Click Add Email Filter. If you need to add anymore email
addresses, just repeat the second step.
If you need to add email addresses for another person you should create a
separate POP3 account for them.
To check your email you can either set up an account in Outlook or use
webmail (or both).
To set up an account in Outlook: Open Outlook and go to Tools --> Accounts.
Then click Add --> Mail. Enter the display name (example: John Smith or Your
Company Name). Click next. Enter the email address you want to set up. Click
next. For incoming and outgoing mail servers enter mail.bluegravity.com.
Click next. For account name enter the POP3 username you created in the
First Step. Enter the POP3 password. Click Finish and you're done.
To check email using webmail: Go to http://mail.bluegravity.com. Enter your
POP3 username and password. Once you've logged in click on Options at the
top then click on "Personal Information". Then click "Edit your Identities".
Select the identity, enter your reply-to email address, click Create and
that's it! |

.htaccess (Password Protection, ErrorDocuments) |
|
|
| 1. |
Using NOTEPAD or another text editor, create a file called ".htaccess" which contains the following lines:
AuthType Basic
AuthName "Secure Area"
AuthUserFile /htdocs/<username>/<domain>/<dir>/.htpasswd
<Limit GET PUT POST>
require valid-user
</Limit>
You will of course need to replace <username> with your username, <domain> with a domain name that is
hosted by us, and <dir> with the name of the folder/directory you are attempting to password protect. The ".htaccess"
file must be placed INSIDE of the folder/directory you will be protecting.
In order for surfers to be able to access this part of your site, you must create a second file called ".htpasswd" which contains
the usernames/passwords. This file must be placed in the folder your are protecting (as shown above in the AuthUserFile line).
By using our Password Generation Tool, you can create accounts and paste them
into your ".htpasswd" file. |
|

| 2. |
First, create the HTML page which will replace the standard Apache error message (for example: 404.html, 403.html, etc). If you haven't
already created an .htaccess file, open a text editor, such as NOTEPAD, and create a file called ".htaccess".
For each error you wish to customize, add a line to your ".htaccess" File:
ErrorDocument 404 /404.html
NOTE: The path to the file may vary slightly if you've put the 404.html file in a different folder/directory.
The table below shows common server status codes and when they might occur.
| 401 |
Authorization Required |
Invalid username/password entered |
| 403 |
Forbidden |
Visitors are blocked from viewing directory contents |
| 404 |
File Not Found |
File missing |
|
|

| 3. |
Using NOTEPAD or another text editor, create a file called ".htaccess" which contains the following lines:
<Limit GET PUT POST>
order deny,allow
deny from 192.0.0.1
</Limit>
NOTE: Replace the IP address above (192.0.0.1) with the IP you'd like to block. |
